BIG 3-0

My friend made it to the third floor and we celebrated by going to this lovely place downtown.

I made her this “Bouquet of Suckers”

Found the idea here via Pinterest. Didn’t get any before pictures but basically what you need is a small old shoe box, which you cover completely by modpodging scrapbook paper to it. Place flower styrofoam inside box and cover its surface by gluing some Easter foliage. Stick the suckers in. Add the “30 sucks” sign and a “Happy Birthday” sign if you want.

You know, with all that “wining” about turning 30, I thought this would, if not brighten her day, at least give her a laugh or two.

The birthday girl and ME

Her surrounded by two cool Colombian chicks

And these are some of the other fun ladies

On a more serious note: Does turning 30 really suck? At least for me these have been some amazing years, when the downs are even LOWER but the ups are even HIGHER. And I gotta be thankful for that.

  1. Happy birthday to your friend! The sucker present idea is actually awesome. I'm going to definitely check out pinterest for some ideas!

I'm still young, but honestly I can't wait to turn 30. I feel like we get wiser as we're getting older. It's also this nice feeling knowing that each year that passes you by you've accomplished something even if it's something small

  2. 30 isn't bad, but this year i am rounding the corner to 35 and i must say this is the first time that my age has actually bothered me. i will no longer be in the late 20's -early 30's group. nope! i will almost be 40. ahhh!! tell your friend to live up being 30 ;)

  3. great photos! and that sucker bouquet is Such an awesome idea! :)hope you can check out my blog for some+vibes and inspiration! i am also hosting a great giveaway! blessings!

  4. looks like fun! happy birthday to your friend. age is nothing but a number when you and your friends don't look a day over 21! :) i have two more years before i hit the dirty thirty...i wonder how i should celebrate?!?!

  5. Looks like a fun party! I think sucker bocquets are so cute. I've really loved my 30s, except my graying hair. :)

  6. cute party and idea! i'm still a few years away, but my hubby turns 30 in two weeks... he's totally cool with it, but just because he's older than me i have to give him a hard time! : )

  7. Would LOVE it if you would share this post at my photo swap party going on right now!!

  8. Ya'll all are some beautiful ladies. Love your sucker cute.:)

  9. fun with friends is always a treat! sweet suckers idea;)
thirty doesn't suck though, it's been fun for me!

  10. I saw that idea on Pinterest, also. Too cute! Thirty is great! I'm staring forty in the face and only feel a little anxious. :)

  11. Aww..cute! I hope 30 doesn't suck, I'm right around the corner! I’d love for you to link your idea to Things I’ve Made Thursdays. I’m trying something new this week- We have two sections to the party- one for kids’ things and one for “Anything”!! I think this post would be an awesome addition to the “Anything Goes” party!

Hope you’ll stop by on Thursday and link up!
